Madam Chairperson, distinguished guest speaker of
honor, school Management, P.T.A the Principal,
Members of staff, distinguish ladies and gentlemen,
students. I feel greatly honored as the Senior
Prefect of this renowned school to give my report.
It was on 20th June 2007, when we finished with our
City and Guilds Part 1 Examination that Eleven of my
colleagues and I were appointed by the staff to
steer the affairs of the student body through the
2007 to 2008 academic year with me as the Senior
Prefect.
I knew that the job of controlling over 400 students
was not going to be easy, but I accepted the
challenge and together with my colleagues prefects
we started our work with all diligence.
Madam chairperson, my heart is filled with exceeding
pride and joy as I tell you and all the good people
gathered here today that we the Fourth year students
graduating today are leaving an indelible mark on
the school with three records that we set and which
will forever be associated with our name.
We were the first batch to do the continuous
four-year course in line with the Government’s new
educational policy, we were the first to take the
N.V.T.I Grade 1 Examination and our student was the
first to gain distinction in the novelty
Accommodation Operation and Services Examination.
We thank the school authorities for initiating
policies that made these records achievable.
We didn’t seem to see eye to eye with the school
authorities when getting to the end of our normal
three-year Course; they met us to announce the
extension of the three-year course to four, starting
with us.
However, sanity prevailed in the end and here we are, boosting to the
whole world that we were the first to start the
extended course. We appeal to all students to
participate in the new programme for it has come to
stay.
